Grace Greathouse, 80, of Grantsville, died Monday, November 1, 2004, at home, after an extended illness.

She was born December 23, 1921, at Tariff, a daughter of the late John Wilbur and Sara Alice Keen White.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Everett Greathouse; one son, Charles Marvin “Sonny” Greathouse; two brothers and one sister.

Mrs. Greathouse was a homemaker and had attended the Henry’s Fork Baptist Church, Tariff.

Survivors include two sons, Herman Jett of Hazel Green, AL and Bruce Epling of Spencer; five daughters, Alice Faye Hicks of Mt. Zion, Blanche Ruth Sinclair of Phoenix, AZ, Mary Sue Starcher of Millstone, Martha Gainer of Grantsville and Margaret Keener of Wooster, OH; two brothers, Ira Mack White of Akron, OH and Jewell W. “Buss” White of Tariff; two sisters, Mary MacMichael of Pompano, FL and Ruby Mallory of Umatilla, FL; 25 grandchildren and 34 great grandchildren.

A funeral service will be conducted Friday, November 5 at 11:00 a.m. in the John H. Taylor Funeral Home, Spencer, with the Rev. Garry L. Bowen officiating.  Burial will be in the Greathouse Cemetery, Spencer.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, November 4.
