Douglas M. Arthur, 60, of Spencer, died Friday, May 13, 2005, in the Roane General Hospital, Spencer.

He was born August 17, 1944, in Santa Monica, CA, a son of the late Charles Ralph and Jessie Ernestine Ward Arthur.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Brenda McKown; and on e brother, the Rev. William “Bill” Arthur.

Douglas was a laborer and attended the former Spencer Assembly of God.

Survivors include one sister, Linda Conley of Ripley; several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be conducted Tuesday, May 17 at 11:00 a.m. in the John H. Taylor Funeral Home, Spencer, with the Rev. Clarence McKown officiating.  Burial will be in the Spencer Memorial Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m. on Monday.
