Eric Saffir, 83, of Spencer, WV, died Friday, January 20, 2006, at home after an extended illness.

He was born September 17, 1922, at Vienna, Austria, a son of the late Federic and Emma Dworac Saffir.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Hannah Roth.  He was retired from the Kellwood Corporation.  He was a graduate of Liverpool College, Liverpool, England.

Surviving relatives include his wife, Frances Jarvis Saffir; two sons, Dr. Michael Saffir of Bethany, CT, and Richard Saffir of San Francisco, CA; two grandchildren, Jacklyn and Douglas Saffir; four nephews and one niece.

A funeral service will be conducted Sunday, January 22 at 2:00 p.m. in the John H. Taylor Funeral Home, Spencer, with the Rev. Michael F. “Mike” King officiating.  Burial will be in the Prudence Chapel Cemetery, Minnora, WV. 

Friends may call at the funeral home Sunday one hour prior to the service.
