Mollie DeWees, 99, of Spencer, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, April 26, 2008 at Roane General Extended Care Facility.

She was born July 16, 1908, at Walnut Grove in Roane County, a daughter of the late John and Florence Brannon.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Gomer Parsons; her second husband, Carl Carper, and her third husband, Harry DeWees; one stepson, Garland Parsons; two daughters-in-law, Mary Alice Parsons and Mary Parsons; two sons-in-law, Vere Yoak and Delbert Rhodes; a grandson, Herbert Parsons; and a great-great grandchild.

She is survived by two daughters, Mildred Yoak Bowen (Harold) of Millstone, WV, and Elsie Rhodes of Mineral Wells, WV; two sons, John Parsons (Mary) of Spencer, and Nelson Parsons of Texas; 10 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren, and 14 great-great grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held Thursday, May 1 at 1 p.m. in the John H. Taylor Funeral Home, Spencer, with the Rev. Damon Rhodes and the Rev. David Lancaster officiating.  Burial will be in the Carpenter Cemetery, Orma, WV.

Friends may call at the funeral home Wednesday, April 30 from 6-8 p.m.
